Looking for some ideas and would like to see pics of what other folks have done. Post 'em if you've got 'em.

Hey man, I just made a press out of some 3/8" plate I bought from the scrapyard. Bought the foam from knife kits and this thing rocks man....I watched the video on you tube from atwoods knife (I think thats it) and copied the best I could with some of my own ideas, If you have a welder and cutting torch it's a piece of cake.... I have about 30 bucks in this press and it's bigger and more heavy duty than the one for 90.00 @ knife kits..I'll take some pics tonight..

I just glued the foam from Knife Kits on two boards. I place the kydex and knife between the two boards and just sit on it. I can flip one of the boards over if I want one side of the sheath to be flat. 230lbs of pressure give or take a pound or so usually gets it done and the cost was just the cost of the foam and a couple of scrap boards. It"s handy to store too.

I glued up 4 12"x12" squares of 1/2" plywood to make 2 12"x12"x2" blocks. I glued walmart blue foam mat to those. I put the kydex in the middle and stand on it.

For wrap around sheaths, I put foam to foam. For flat side sheaths I put foam to wood. I do usually have to do a little reshaping with a heat gun and hands, but that's because I'm kind of a perfectionist.

That's the Kydex press gear my friend made for himself:
