Yup, the Sifu is a solid piece, but then I consider my Pioneer II one also. My Bladeforums green Sifu was pretty much perfect in production quality. I had to file down the sharp points on the finger grooves myself, but other than that, it is functionally super.

The Pat Crawford Carnivore combines the Rolling Lock with handmade fit and finish. Brilliant piece in my opinion.

The Sifu is really in a league of its own though.

I LOVE my Sifu! I got it at the Blade Show, I was standing there and felt fingers around my neck and something going in my pocket. Bob had taken off my neck knife and inserted a Carbon Fiber Sifu in my pocket! Well maybe it didnt happen exactly like that, but good trade. I pack it a lot!

Me too.
I've got numbers 50 and 51 of the handground first batch. One of the first black-t'd BF knives. One with CF scales and SN002of the red/black latest run.
The handground scales are a little sharp on the tips of the finger grooves, but the rest of them are almost 100%. Especially the red/black ones, both SIFU and Carnivor. The CF Cub I got at the Blade show is, other than a scratch on the back scale near the clip, flawness. I got it as a user so I really didnot care. (The scratch appears to be "in" the CF rather than "on" it.)

REKAT really has come a long way in a short time.

It's a fine line between "a hobby" and "mental illness".

Ya, the "sharp points in the G10 at each fingergroove tip" issue is probably the last "problem" usually seen.

About 10 seconds per tip with a fingernail file solved it just fine in my case, and other people have said the same thing.

If that's a "flaw" it's certainly not one I'd worry about. These aren't collectors, they're streetfighters.

I love the look that G10 gets when it starts to look worn and gray. I was getting jiggy with my Sifu the other night, snapping open and closed, and did the unthinkable. I snapped it shut on my middle finger somehow. Oh well, I let out a howl and went on a'snappin'.

The Sifu is my number one choice for street carry. If you've got deep enough pockets, no one can tell you're carrying a short sword. It draws well, and grips as secure as a push dagger IMHO. Fit and finish on both my #24 handground and my regular production model are superb.

I've been trying to con Benchmade into making a mega-folder with the Axis mechanism, but one thing's for sure. The Sifu will still be in its own class for form and function as the ergonomics of it are first rate (too good in fact, hence my near-finger loss).

Professor.

Professor, a Sifu in Richmond? That's about like me carrying mine in DC! They're very serious about their 3.25" law down there, at least that's what we hear up in the People's Republic of Arlington where they aren't so picky.

P.S. I forgot to say that my Sifu, an early production run item, is most solid and as smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom. I have absolutely no complaints.
