Pehaps it's abit strange, but I always prefered watchig movies (esp. anime) alone. After I've taken the job, I have very few chances to get a TV set for couple of hours without having to share it.
And it just occured to me once. I've got a PC, capable of playing DVDs. So if a monitor would be just abit bigger...
Ok, ok, getting to the point: What size of monitor would be enought for movie-watching from a distance of ~7' (2 m.)?
Thanks beforehand!
P.S. Additional TV-set is not an option -- couldn't wind a place to put it...

Considering I sit about 6'-7' away from my 32" Samsung LCD TV, I don't think anything smaller would really be sufficient...

What kind of moniter do you have? (LCD or CRT) I've got a 17' LCD, and if I sit any closer than 5' the picture is grainy and unclear. Past 5' though, movies are sharp and clear.

That 18" LCD you have just might work. Why not give it a try? Keep in mind that with LCD's the size is the actual viewing area of the screen, but with CRT's the viewing area is actually smaller.

Also it is a bit of a subjective thing, so just try it out. You will know if you want something bigger or not.

I am using a 17" Compaq professional screen. The fidelity is superb. Normal screens and cheap ones for servers/ocassional use don't compare to the professional series. The colour is fantastic, better than most TVs.
