Skirmish in Texas

In an earlier post it was stated that the Skirmish was illegal to carry in Texas. I would like to know what makes it illegal as I own one and carry it nearly every day in Texas. From the laws that I have read it is legal to carry up to 5 1/2 inch blades in Texas as long as they are not sharp on both sides or automatic opening. The Skirmish is under 4 1/2 inches. I am interested to know if I am doing something illegal without knowing it.

My only guess would be that the STATE law doesn't prohibit the Skirmish, but LOCAL laws might. I believe it wouldn't be kosher in San Antonio (I seem to remember they pretty much put the sqash on locking folders there). It also wouldn't be legal on privately owned property where it was posted as not being allowed. Just my guess.

Sincerely,
Anthony

It was explained to me back in Waco that four inches was the limit, though I might (hopefully) have been accidentally lied to. But the Skirmish is nonetheless, way too huge for me. Might as well just carry around the khukuri.

It's a 4.5 inch framelock folder from Benchmade. S30V steel, framelock, titanium handles. About 150 dollars online.

Very cool.

I did some knife law reading and it says that, in Texas, 5.5 inches is the limit. I love Texas. Now if we could just get balis and otfs legalized. So I was wrong. The skirmish SHOULD be legal....will have to consider getting that huge... knife....

If huge is what you want, why fool around with a dinky 4.5" when you can get a real 5.5" knife? Try the Camillus CUDA MAXX 5.5" in either the Bowie style blade or what they call the stiletto style blade.
