Hi Folk's, It 's been discussed in another thread the we might just have a need for a Slipjoint Forum for
those of us who have all the One Hand Wonder Tactical knives they could ever use. I suppose the best way
to show the need is to offer the chance to voice your opinion on the matter. So here it is. If you'd liked to see
a Slipjoint Forum speak up. With enough support maybe we could convince Spark to add one...

Here's my vote for one. Will you add your vote?

I also find myself being drawn to slip joints lately. Is there enough info to warrant it's own forum?

I think we specialize too much already. I don't see why slipjoints can't be discussed in the General Forum.

I agree with Razor and Brian. There is no real need for a dedicated slip-joint forum.

I do find it interesting that so many people are discussing this type of knife more both in the general and custom forums. Too many forums will actually discourage readership. The sword forum for example has an average of only a few posts a day. A slip joint forum would probably gather even less.

The forums may not have that many posts but I would like to see a slipjoint forum on at least a provisional basis. It would be cool if someone like Bernard Levine could moderate since he has such a deep knowledge of different knife patterns.

I would very much like to see a slipjoint forum. And yes, I think there is a very good reason for a slipjoint forum. I posted last week about slipjoints. In the course of two days it had moved off to page four of this forum. If somebody interested in slipjoints didn't get to see the post in time, he/she never would have known it was posted without a search. The shear volume of posts in this forum discourages specialized topics, which have a smaller audience. A smaller audience isn't an unneeded audience. It's just smaller. And seeing that slipjoints have such a strong place in the heritage of our hobby, a separate forum is well deserved. Well, at least that’s my take on things. Then again, I’m a slipjointaholic, so I’m biased. :)

Or maybe...... If tacticals are so popular...... Maybe they need a separate forum, to give other knife interests a little breathing room.

I'd rather see a Sharpening and Maintenance forum, as those posts constitute about one-quarter of all the posts in General.

Count me in with the yays. No way to know how it will do if we don't give it a try.

Ron

I am a slip joint fool too and I would participate where ever we were talking about them. (if I saw the post).

I agree with Para that we can have some fun in Bernard's forum, here and in Custom. If it gets going strong, it may end up as a Forum after everybody else gets sick of us :).

Agreed. I've been hoping for one for a while

Please excuse my ignorance, but could someone give an example of a slipjoint knife brand? I'm not sure what my opinion on a forum for them is if I can't think of what one looks like. (That's not like an Opinel, is it?)
