I am fully aware of the law. But would most LEO's go out of their way to bust you for carrying a Protech runt or a Microtech M-UDT or maybe even a BM Mini-Reflex (you know 3" blade limit like when it comes to normal folders its common sense incase of confromtation with LEO's)? I know if you were charged with something else you would be charged with carrying a concealed prohibited weapon. But would they go out of the way if you had it clipped to your pocket like any other knife. Or if it was a "California" legal automatic on your keychain?

Are there any LEO's or people who have had some silimar experience? Is the law even enforced for someone who carries a small auto and doesn't get charged with anything else?

Even small auto knives are considered a prohibited weapon in Canada. There were a couple of stores in Toronto's Chinatown that were busted recently for selling cigarette lighter/switchblades. These knives are considered illegal even though they only have a two-inch blade and are basically a novelty.

You can read about this incident at www.canadiangunnutz.com. Go to their Politics forum and look for the thread entitled "'ugly' illegal weapons seized". Apparently the cops are serious about knife laws regardless of the blade length.

Yeah, I saw that. Guess my Mini UDT or my runt is off for carry, but keep in mind that is in Toronto and they were selling. Not just a law abiding citzen carrying a little folder that happens to have a spring in it. But its funny how Volkswagen can get away with that automatic key in the handle thingy the way things are going. But I think the lighters is different, they might be considered "Digused knives".
