Small Decorated Sebenza - Potential for Scratches from Sheath Carry

Anyone carried a small decorated Sebenza in a tight leather sheath? I just purchased a tight horizontal leather sheath and now am paranoid about putting the knife in for the first time, for fear of finding micro-scratches when I remove it.

I would appreciate feedback from anyone who carries a small decorated Sebenza in a tight leather sheath.

Thank you.

Use it and enjoy it!!! Or put it in a drawer... The little scratches and blemishes on our lives (knives) give us all character....

Michael is right. Use the sheath. If they are micro scratches you probably won't see them anyway.

Besides, the only way to keep a blade razor sharp is to never cut anything with it and the only way to keep a perfect finish is to never carry it. In that case, what's the point of having it? It's just a tool. Use it. Chris can restore anything you can do to the knife.

If it's a properly fitted sheath, like a Graley, the leather will ride on the screw heads and keep it from wearing on the finish of the handle. Relax. Enjoy. Life is short.

Well I did it! I took off the clip, got my courage up, and slid the knife into the sheath for the first time. No scratches! Halleluia. Great job with the sheath G2.

C4 is right, go ahead and use it, a few scratches won't hurt anything. The Sebenza is a folder that is made to be used!! Just my two cents worth!

Hmmmm... I ran across this thread in the General Forum. http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum32/HTML/003924.html

Seems leather has been known to cause some damage. To what extent, I don't know. I carry my small decorated clipless and pouched in my right front jeans pocket. I wonder what CRK would have to say about the above thread. It's got me a bit concerned- cause obviously, my knife spends more time in the sheath than out. Also, can leather wear out the anodizing?

Some things to think about...
