OK, Hi, I am a JK knife groupy! whew, I feel better admitting it, I am not cured, but I feel better getting it out! Seriously, I have two midsized knives from John, I have decided which larger style I want, (Knatchet), so I have been thinking about the small size knife. I would like to ask what poeple's views are on the: pack knife, EWOK, neckmuck, the baby kepheart, and...... any other thoughts you have on soemthing this size. I love the curved blade of the neckmuck, but I don't know how much that is hype and how much is real performance on the cirved balde design. Just when I think I have made the decision, I see post of the EWOK or the pack knife and think that's the perfect knife. SO, please tell me your thoughts. If you have more than one of these, I'd love to hear your opinon. By the way, I still lurk through the grilling and cooking threads, just nothing to add yet that hasn't been sugested! Will work on something edible with photos

The River Woods Companion is about the handiest little knife that I own.

I have an EWOK like knife and a baby Kephart from John and prefer the Baby Kephart. I little smaller than the EWOK and very handy. I did ask that the handle be about 3/4" longer than standard which I believe makes it better. It fits nicely in a KSF pocket sheath with firesteel.

I have the pack knife and I love it. It is very stout for a small blade and disappears in a pack or pocket until needed. I'm sure you could not go wrong with whatever one you decide on. I am a very big fan of smaller blades and would like a Neckmuk myself as I add to my collection of users.

I am quite partial to the Neckmuk and the Baby Kephart as they are my designs. The Baby Keppie is very handy, think of it as a fixed blade swiss army knife minus all other tools. The Neckmuk is very stout and can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. John makes quite a few smaller knives, all of which are top notch. My main consideration would be narrow or wide blade and more of a rounded tip (Neckmuk) or more of a pointy tip. Figure out which two features would work best for what you want, that should narrow it down a bit.

After searching the forum a little, I located the pocket scandi. It seems like a fabulous knife. Does anyone have this and another of the smaller sized knives? How do they compare?

I have one. It is awesome. Get one, you won't regret it. My version of the ewok is fabulous too.

OK, had a very difficult time deciding, I really like the pack knife, the EWOK, and the baby Kephart, but when it came time to pull the trigger, I went with the Pocket Scandi! John is doing a special run with Desert Iron wood handles and I thought I would get the pocket Scandi with that wood! Can't wait!

You can't possibly go wrong with any of these suggestions. I'm rather fond of the EWOK. It has been with me anytime I have been dressed since I got it.
