Just finished this one up. It is for my partner and was supposed to be finished for our anniversary back in March  She was after one of my knives for a while now. For some reason the wood doesn't come up as purple in the photo as it actually is in real life. This is a smaller version of my usual slipjoint pattern. A bit different to the last couple I have made which were the linerless ones.

Blade and Spring: 3/32 ATS-34
Liner, Bolster and pins: Stainless
Handle scales: Acacia Carnei (Needle Wattle)
Closed: 85mm
Open: 150mm
Blade edge: 60mm

Pivot bushing
Milled Liner Relief
Half stop
She wanted it really shiny so I took it all the way up to P2000 sandpaper.

Very nice work, you got talent. Happy New Year, from the other side and up a bit.

Nice work, Hope to see more your knives here.

What properties does Needle Wattle have? Similar to Ebony or?

Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I'm sure she felt the wait was worth it & what a way to start off the New Year. Great job.

The main property it has for her knife was that it looks purple ;) I haven't worked with ebony before so I couldn't say. It seems quite hard though not as hard to work as gidgee maybe the same as red gum.

I hope to be posting more knives here as well. One of the reasons this knife took so long was because she has been suffering from Post Natal Depression. I have given up a lot of my usual knife making time on the weekends to help her out and give her a break from the kids.

Great knife and nice gift. I especially like the unusual nail nick. Very nice work, hope to see more of it.
