I can't remember what, or even when, it was that I bought something from SmithMicro, but I'm sure I did at some point. In any case, I continue to occasionally get emails from them - emails that are usually deleted in short order. This latest one, however, caught my eye for some reason. It's advertising something called eyeTV. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this product and could explain what it does in layman's terms. It's currently on sale for $100, but it's not clear whether there are any additional monthly subscription fees or other hidden costs. With a dual processor Mac G5 and HD Cinema Screen monitor, it would appear as though I'm covered on the computer hardware end, but here again, the source of the television content it's not made clear. I don't presently own an HD television simply because I don't watch that much tv at home. Consequently, I don't pay for any HD channels with the Verizon FIOS cable service - not sure if that matters in any way or not.
