HAS ANYONE LOGGED ON TO THE WEB-SITE
WWW.SMOKINGHOLE.COM
THEY PRODUCE THREE UNUSUAL KNIVES. AFTER YOU SEE THE PICTURES, LET'S GET YOUR OPINIONS.

I saw them in the new Blade.Heavy Microtech influence in my opinion.

WOW... Thats a cool website...

I want a Light Saber.

I CALLED, THERE IS A FIFTEEN WEEK WAITING PERIOD BEFORE THEY BECOME AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. THEY ARE ALL MADE INHOUSE, AND THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY SAID, "IF HE WOULD HAVE KNOWN OF THE RESPONSE HE IS GETTING, HE WOULD HAVE STARTED PRODUCTION IN JANUARY OF 1999."

Who actually makes the knives. They look like they were made by or at least influenced by Ryan Knives.

Very intresting knives... for me these types of knives are great to look at but hard to justify buying for any real use. I would have a hard time in court with a knife that claims to have:
"extreme clawing and lacerating capabilities for devastating penetration and cavitation"

Anyone here ever hear of Hawg knives?? very similar design characteristics.. especially on the first one. As for the last one( dragon) does anyone else think it looks like a cross between a Jot sing khalsa and a BM Stryker???
Interesting conversation pieces... but lack functionality.. and that whole flesh cavitating thing... too much.

A Spyderco-cum-Benchmade on steroids. Even if I had the money, I'd pass. I'd buy a REKAT instead.

Dirk's right, they look like Steve Ryan's knives. But Ryan's design seem more purpose-driven.

Smoking Hole Knives are designed by Aaron Harris. This is the same twisted mind that brought us the Boz .223. You gotta love anyone that thinks like that.

Aaron did the design work and, indeed, turned to his friend, Steve Ryan, for the manufacture. He did solicit a lot of advice on the designs that he decided on. He had a fixed blade (not the Pirahna) that is bad to the bone. Very specialized knives but very cool.

I can´t speak about the quality, but surely looks good! I would love to have one in my hands. If it is well built - or at least as good as a Benchmade - US$ 300,00 wouldn´t be too high for it in my opinion, since this thing seems much bigger than most folders we´re used to, like Benchmades and Spydercos and Emersons.
Best regards

Ivan

Ugly as hell IMO. Form should follow function and those knives just don't look functional. But that's probably not a problem since most people who would buy them wouldn't even try to use them. Armchair Rambos

I don't like their knives, but the Aurora pistol they build is a "must buy" in my book.
