Smoooothe....

Hi... first post on the Spyderco forum.

When I bought my Michael Walker LtWt, I was impressed at how much smoother it opened than my old Endura. Recently I had the opportunity to check out maybe a dozen different Spydies, and I have yet to find one that opens as smoothly as the MWLW. I am supposed to receive my new H Viele Spyderco tommorow, so I'll see how it measures up.

Do I get lucky with my MWLW, or do others out there feel the same way?

Knowing that the forumites out there have handled a massive amount of Spydies, I wonder what you guys think are the smoothest opening?

Thanks,
~Kev

Well Im sure when you get your Veile in, you will find that it is by far the smoothest knife in the Spyderco line up.

Ive got lots of Spyderco's, and what models I dont have, Ive had the chance to at least try them out. Out of all of the Spyderco's the Veile wins on this count.

Kev,

I have found the Viele as well as the Almite Walker to be the smoothest opening of the Spyderco line. Both very smooth in the looks department also.

I'll second the Viele as the smoothest. Handled one at a knife/gun show recently and was amazed at how easily it opened. If I get another Spyderco in the $100 range, the Viele is first on my list.

The Military isn't the smoothest one out there, but I think it's the fastest. The heavy blade, the big thumb hole, the general shape all combine to make it by far the fastest folder I've ever had.
