Just sent this one out the other day. It was my first experience working snakewood. Man it sure works like a dream and takes a great polish.

Snakewood is my favorite knife handle wood. It tends to crack and check over time. Did you do anything to try to prevent this from happening?

I thaink that knive is gorgeous. I tend to like my fixed knives with shorter blades and this one definitely fits that category. What are the specs on this knife?

Thanks guys. KWM, I stabelized the snakewood using pentacryl prior to use. Don't know if it will do any good, but sure won't hurt. Here's the specs:

OAL~7", 2.5" blade (sharpened)
1/8" ATS-34
416 dovetailed bolsters
Mosaic pins
Filework
And of course, snakewood scales.

I gotta say that is one very fine lookin' blade you've got there. It all speaks quality, and I love your asymmetrical filework. VERY distinctive and elegant.

It's just me but I DON'T like snakewood. Can't explain why. For snakewood lovers this one's a real dream. I'm the minority I'm sure.

Thanks for the post!!! Nice pics BTW:)

you were lucky..................it likes to crack while you look at it and sometimes after you put it on a handle and sometimes 6 months later!!
