*This test was only for fun and does not represent anything official it is just my comparison of the SH KD and my CGFBM while chopping.

Here are my results and some pics for you.

This log is super hardwood like steel, no lie. The first huge hit with the CGFBM barely dented the wood, nuclear tough hardwood for sure, I swear it is INFI Oak.
I swung each with extreme force no sissy swings at all.

First I did 10 chops with each and then took pics.
Next I swung each until I went through the log.

CGFBM 35 hit until through
SH KD 30 hit until through

After using the SH KD a lot lately I will not be going out with out it, its that good.
I will never get rid of my CGFBM and honestly you cant really compare the two since one is a fixed blade and the other is a hawk with each having it's own + and -
That being said paring the KD with a medium or small fixed blade will be a great hiking or camping combo. I will always take a large fixed with me as well for battoning large logs, the KD does have it limitations as you can imagine. For what it was designed for the SH KD shines beyond belief and then some but I always like to push my Busse's/Kin to their limits and I have never had one fail yet, especially the KD.
I only took so many photos but I will tell you I have hammered this tool since it arrived, It's Freekin awesome.
After 5 Wobbly Pops (Miller HighLife) I decided to throw it again and its just incredible, so balanced it flies great and I am not an expert by any means.

OK onto the pics.....enjoy as these are for all of you that have been waiting for these and those that have scored and are waiting....Cheers! Tom

Thanks for the pics! Im glad that I scored a Kill devil in the Ganza. I just bought a nice block of wood to handle it with too.

I can't wait to get mine!

You are going to love it. Congrats on your score and I cant wait to see the handles when you are done.

Hi Max,

very nice cutting with your Hawk and Knife.. and cool pics. I enjoyed reding your story .. few weeks ago, i got a second-hand KD Hawk from the bay ... very interesting hawk. I like it a lot, i thing the head geometry is well executed. and the spike is long (what i like).
Though, as all tactical hawks, it is less weight in the head. I think, this has to be considered before purhasing either a tactical flat steel hawk, or a traditional one. - i like both .. for different purposes.
Cheers, Erik
