Hi,

Just got back from a nice day hike in Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba, Canada.

We actually saw a wolf while driving... it cross the road about 50 yards ahead of us, and then stopped at the edge of the brush as we drove by. We got a good look at it, but couldn't stop to take a pic; our cameras were in the back of the car, and we were on a busy highway where it wouldn't be safe to pull over (sometimes the snowy shoulder of the road is actually a 6 ft ditch)

Here are some pics of the scenery. The first photo shows some nice tracks of an animal crossing the river.

We stopped for some spruce tea, using a Honey Stove:

My wife carries a Busse BAD (Bony Active Duty), and I have a Busse Boss Jack LE. I had some blue liners put in by the custom shop to thicken the handle a bit, which worked nicely:

The weather was beautiful... just above freezing - much warmer than usual.

Hope you enjoy!

Very cool ... Hardly any snow thus far this year in Maryland.....I am just slightly jealous.... Lol

Melty snow in Manitoba in Feb? Man, that's warm enough to wake the skeeters over there! Cool looking cook kit.

I hope ALL the skeeters wake up... later this week the daytime high is supposed to be minus 20 C. Any mosquitoes who jumped the gun would meet an early end :)

I actually saw a robin last week while I was out for a run... I don't recall seeing one before April previously (though I simply might not have noticed)
