i'm aware that it was a sprint run to gauge its popularity. judging from the reviews, responses, and that most vendors are out of stock...it seems like a popular knife. so, will it now go into production? 'cause i need another one.

It's sold out?!

S*** I was gonna get another one.

I'd love to see it become a regular production piece, if only so I can get another one;)

I do wonder if it'll happen though. The SWICK doesn't seem anywhere near as popular as it was expected to be, and I've only seen it available through NGK, and nowhere else. Nor have I seen all that much praise for it, except for a small group of people, who are usually quite visible in any SWICK related thread(heck I'm guilty there)

But then again, it was a 500 piece run(if I remember correctly) and it looks to be sold out already(in about a month). That's a good thing, so if we're lucky we can have it as a regular piece. 500 pieces in a month? Not too bad;)

I'm not holding my breath though, because I can see why Spyderco would want to stop now, as the SWICK definitely fills a niche market, and who knows how much that niche can sustain the market.

But I do want another one...:(

NGK seems to be sold out of SWICK's ! NGK seems to be one of the mayor retailers of sprint run's and the fact that it sold out is a good sign.
This will probably mean that a second run will be offered

NGK's out.... that's bad, I should have picked one up when I had the chance. :(

Hopefully this will go into production or at least a 2nd sprint run. Does Spyderco ever do a 2nd batch of sprint runs if the demand is good but not quite enough to justify full production?

Yes, Sal clearly stated that this batch was a test run to see if there was a real demand for it. The fact that it sold relatively well opens the door for a second batch, maybe even an upgraded version with G10 scales and a resque version in H1.

Check Knifecenter of the Internet. They're carrying the SWICK now, also.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of any other dealers carrying it. I really do need another.

Well, not need necessarily, more like want.

I must have gotten one of the last ones from NGK then. It just came in the brown truck today! I really like it.

I like this one better than the Hideaway Knife. I think it's much more practical than the SPOT.

Did anyone else who is in the collector's club get one? I never did.

Perhaps since it was a test run, it doesn't count as part of the collector club, and as such you guys won't get one unless it becomes production?

It would make sense. If the run was test market interest, having around 100 or so go straight to collectors kinda skews the numbers a bit.

I'm just guessing though, I have no idea.

I would complain if it wasn't ! I believe the Swick should be in every Spyderco collectors inventory.

That's what everyone is so excited about? :barf: Spyderco doesn't make many knives that decidedly turn me off, but that is certainly one of them.
