soft coal problem

Anyone know where I can get soft(bituminus) coal for forging in eastern or central PA? I'm going to MD soon to learn damascus making with Keith Bagley and I'd really like to bring some coal for him(his supplies are running low; lower I'm sure after I leave). Living in PA you think I'd be able to find any kind of coal. Everybody I've contacted only has anthricite coal. The one place I did find it so far was in NC. I'm not too sure I want to know what the shipping would be on 300-500lb. of coal. Any help would be great.

You might try a post on www.Keenjunk.com

Sometimes a local/regional Blacksmith Guild or group buys good coal in quantity and makes it available much cheaper than some of the dealers selling small lots.

Around here, some of the guys get a truck and make a run to a mine with some better coal/prices.
