i just recently picked up a SOG Fusion Tomahawk with the new fiberglass handle. it feels very good in the hand, the blade is very sharp, and the black coating on the steel head stays on with some chopping in aspen wood.

i read the articles in either Knives Illistrated or Blade magazine that tested the SOG, they didnt get to testing the new fiberglass handles.

can anyone please give me a usage report on their Fusion if availible? I'm very interested in how well the head/handle connection is. thanks ahead of time! --------- Eric

i don't know much about it, brother. it sure is a pretty hawk though.

can you tell me how much the whole unit weighs, and its length? that would let me make an educated guess.

i'm going to try to look at some of them at the SHOT Show this January.

TIA.

I just got one a little while ago, but no time to put it through the paces.

What VERY few reviews I could find still had complaints about the handle breaking through normal usage(though it certainly feels sturdy to me).

One guy milled out a Titanium haft for his. The only change I plan to make is adding some O-rings to the grip-grooves.

Just keep in mind, it's not a woodsman's hand-axe. It's a tomahawk. The difference being, it's primary function is as a weapon. I keep mine as part of an SHTF kit. For chopping wood with any serious intent, I'll stick to my HI Kukri or CS Trailhawk.
