Hiya.
I am a carver who recently (Luckily) got quite a few kilos of mammoth ivory. This is Siberian mammoth ivory that has been out of the ground at least 20 years, so there is minimal (If any) chance of weathering problems.
It came from a large tusk that was well prepared.
As you can see from the photos, the material is extremely solid.
I have trimmed any chalk that was present and there are only (From some) tiny cracks left on the bark material, the core being totally solid.
This is very solid material that is beautiful to carve, make it into handles, etc.
The largest piece is 20.5cm x 7cm and more than a kilo of solid material.
This is A+ quality and will make show-level solid handles.
I have some more trimming than the photos show, to chase down any cracks and chalk, but the sizes are still the same. Some of the skin has been removed, so I could check for bad spots.
All items will come from the Netherlands so you will need to pay international post costs. People in the Netherlands or surrounding countries as welcome to come by and pick the items up in person also.
These photos are just to give an idea and I will be putting individual blocks for sale on this forum.
I have 3 pieces about 10cm by 7cm , the longer one mentioned above one solid 15cm x 7cm piece and so on.
