hi,

I'm new to the Busse Forum - just thought you guys can help:

(1) does the Active Duty in black linen micarta come with the zero tolerance edge;
(2) can I order a badger attack without the black crinkle finish but in satin finish? how much more would that cost? is that considered a custom or a variant?
(3) when is the folder due out - how do I get more info?
(4) how much was the Mr Mofo?

thanks - hope you forumites can help - I've just done a search but there's nothing conclusive and it's all so confusing with the dozens of red herrings littering the threads about the folder :(

Howdy, and welcome to the group! Your addiction begins here, and you couldn't have gotten a better knife to start it with!

The edge is the same on the black handled Active Duty.....

for the extras, email marc at the custom shop, he's a top guy!

marc@bussecombat.com

The folder will be out before the Blade show, at least that's what Jerry said, but with him doing orders for the military now, who knows....we are ALL waiting!

The mofos....

Tactical Grade 367.00, Satin LE 467.00.
Here is the link to the email.

Hope this helps.

Hello Spyken, I'm glad you stopped by the Busse Forum :D:D

Wilco pretty much handled your questions, but add my 2 cents worth ;)

1) I believe as long as they are satin finished all Active Duties come with the zero tolerance edge.

2) Yes, you can order it without the black finish, you'll need to call the shop to order and determine the exact difference in price. I wouldn't consider this a custom or variant but rather just a different option. You may want to consider the Double cut finish rather than the satin as I believe it holds up to use better. :D

3) Good question.....Jerry when is the folder due out :D:D

4) I'm glad Wilco handled this one because I couldn't remember :D

thank you people for clearing that up! I will get in touch with Marc soon (after I recover from surgery I just had) - I would really like a folder, but if that's not forthcoming soon, then something that is a real slicer, yet tough with around a 4.5-5 inch blade - any suggestions?

anor question - what's a double cut finish? although I'm aware that the crinkle finish will last longer, I prefer satin (or mebbe the double cut) finish even though I will be using an abusing (that's why I'm looking at a busse) my knife.

regards,
