Just imagine waking up to bacon and eggs and looking at this with a coffee in your hand. Life is good!

I must admit, that is some beautiful scenery. Kinda like home!

Roos . . . now that's something we can't see in the states. Not like that at any rate. :)

Andrew: You oughtta go visit Aussie country again sometime in the next few years. And take along a friend that'd love to see it. Please? :D

Hi Guy - thanks for putting up the pics.

Yep - that's our camp way down there. Location is 35 degrees 56.586 minutes south, 149 degrees 44.807 minutes east. Our tent sits on top of the 4WD, so we're sleeping up away from the crawlies (and when up north, up and away from those big lizards!). We had a funny experience on one trip there, when a wombat (that's a marsupial about the size of a small pig, but built like a Mack truck) wandered through under the 4WD in the small hours of the night. We must have parked on his trail. Anyway, he must have gotten stuck, because I could feel the car rocking side to side a few times. The movement woke my wife, too. She told me she felt the car moving, and wondered what I was doing, thinking "He's started without me!".

"Road Trip!" - I dare you Jennifer...bring that talented bloke form Busse Combat too, the one that does not like planes, or so I hear...:D ;)

Gundy,
Those 'Roos good eating?? I've always wanted to come down for some feral hunting.
Thanks,
Bill

My thoughts exactly. Kids can we say ' barb a roo??' Lizards are pretty much like ours except for the spelling. You guys left off the I. We have Iguanas, you have Guanas. Both taste pretty much the same I suppose. Thet LOOK the same.

"Wacking the Wombat" LOL

Roos are the best tasting meat you can get in my opinion, better than venison even. No fat! The most juciest tenderest peice of unfatty melt in your mouth meat you will find on this planet!

Now I am hungry....They are ofcourse protected and are only allowed to be shot via a control licence...

You can buy it in the supermarkets too, and every restaurant sells it.

Come on down and I will shout you a leg or two...:D

BTW, we do not have Guana's, we have Goanna's! And you guys can tackle one of those lads, cos I aint mate! I still have the scars...:grumpy: When one wanders into your camp and starts eating the snags off of your barbie plate, leave him be and be polite when you ask him if he wants any salt....they hate to be disturbed when eating and especially hate being grabbed by the tail, so I found out...

Gundy,
The 'roo feast sounds awesome!! Now why doesn't Outback Restuarant offer that ??? Better than that tough sirloin they push... I have talked with a few folks that came and hunted on feral permits and they really loved the country and people. I am a reptile nut,so I should do fine with the scalies- just keep those damn tunnel spiders and me far apart!! I may burn down the other half on Australia to get rid of those nasties!! LOL
Later,
Bill

funnells are nasty, but in my opinion, 'white tips' are much much nastier...:(

9 out of 10 people that are bitten, have a chemical reaction to their poison which makes the flesh literally rot away if not treated immediately and properly. Sometimes this is not even enough...

I kill at least 1 - 3 per month here in the summer....

Nasty buggers!:grumpy:
