Some new additions

I picked this 5OT up at a flea market the other day, couldn't beat the price, besides, I have been wanting one. I wanted something different, so I slapped some osage orange on it, no pins, I think it turned out fairly well. I also bought an 834, I thought it'd go well with my 34Ot. I have been wanting a 25OT and a 125OT ever since I sold my last 25OT, I found both at good prices, the didn't have the origional sheaths but oh, well. I have long been wanting a schrade hawkbill and I found one of those too, a 186, not in bad shape either considering the condition that I have seen many others. None are mint, but I can't afford/find mint knives, nor do I really want them, an older knife that was lightly used and stained just has "character" However "mint" knives sure are purdy . I'm thinking abour rehandling the two folding hunters, but am still unsure, if I do they will be done from the same peice of wood so they'll be more like a "set". Well, i'll go for now, take Care

What did you finish the osage-orange with?
We have some here in PA,but I've never seen any with that color.It sure is a hard,heavy wood.

yep, its a realy good wood for handles. I finished it with three hand rubbed coats of boiled linseed oil, the more osage is exposed to light the darker it gets.
