I was packing my stuff and decided to show you some of the pieces I'll be taking to the Blade Show.

These are a new style of Kiridashi I am making, great for general cutting chores and more versatile than the straight bladed one and a Generation 2 Tanto, very light and perfect for concealment.
Both are made from 1/8" thick 440C steel
Let me know what you guys think about them!

P.S.: Breaking contact tomorrow morning.

Ivan, I think they look great. The big knife is one that I find to have a shape that I really like.

Have a great show and let us know how things went for you when you get home.

Ivan, i love the look of your handles, where do you find the ray skin in the different colors????

Also, it looks like u finish the flat part of the blade on the contact wheel...what grit do you go up to? I do the same on a lot of my stuff before i hand finish it...i tried using a 1200 trizact belt, but made the finish look washed out and smeary.

Hello, Taz

I finish th flats of my blades in the flat platen between the wheels of my grinder, holding the vertically against the belt, not in th wheel. It produces a finish similar to a hand rubbed one. I use to finish them on th e 50 grit belt then just smooth the finiah with a 220 belt, wich i also use on the edge.

Now, about the ray skin for my handles, this is one of my best kept trade secrets , so don't call Mother of Pearl Co. and don't even think of clicking here, too www.knifehandles.com
