It's been a while since i've purchased any Kershaw models, so my apologies if the following questions seem noobish.

When was this model introduced?
When was it discontinued?

Are there any particular grip issues with the handle?

I get the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that the Akulon handled version was intended as a successor of sorts.

Thanks.

I think the Aluminum handled Speed Bump was a limited edition Sprint run made for a distributor. I wouldn't mind having one...

I have a few of those ALBLK Bumps. The one I carry on occasion is very easy for me to grip.
Things like Akulon handles and TracTec inserts add to the grippiness on some models.
I like the light weight of the aluminum and find that the slimness of the knife
makes up for it's overall size in my pocket.

First ones hit the streets in Sept 06, and we have produced 1925 pieces to date. Strangely enough, we have this item on the shelves, so it is still available as of today.

To add, the majority of this model were sold as premium pieces for companies that wanted logo's engraved on them.

One more bit, we have no plans to add the 1595ALBLK into the catalog as a regular item.

I really like mine.

Had the Akulon version too but didn't like it as much.
(Was not as aesthetically appealing IMO. But of course that's a subjective thing.)

The black aluminum version looks great and is a nice slim carry for a relatively large knife.
Feels very strong as well.

Definitely recommended.

My 1595ALBLK Speed Bump is one of my all-time favorite Kershaws! No grip issues whatsoever for me, and just about the slimmest carry possible for a large knife.

Actually, I'm pretty partial to all the aluminum-scaled knives Kershaw makes...I have some Leeks and Scallions and Chives with aluminum scales and really like those...they're also some of my favorites. ;)

You know what, bottom-line? I love all the Kershaws in my collection! :D

Ray :)
