Just done for a customer - 6.5inch blade of 1075/L6 ladder pattern damascus by Shawn McIntyre. I reforged the bar to shape. Edge quenched. Forge-blacked guard, made to look like a Japanese tsuka. Grooved blacked steel collar / ferrule. The tang frame is canvas Micarta underneath for strength, pinned with 416SS. black rayskin underlay, impregnated wrap. The menuki is once again a cast bronze dragon, made by Maurie McCarthy, former President, Australian Knifemakers Guild.

I had fun making this one. Now to figure out a nice sheath idea. Also spent a couple of hours trying to get better pictures of the damascus, but I've called it quits for now. Thanks for looking. Feedback, as always is appreciated. Jason.

Your work is hitting new heights!!!!! :)

Everything about that knife is so clean........... BRAVO!!!! :D

Great looking knife,a very cool style. You sure have the wrapping thing down pat.

Wow Jason. I like this one even better than your normal Firestorm, and that's saying alot. Very cool.

The Eastern flavour is pervasive. I have definitely detected its fragrance even though we are an ocean apart. :)

Should have known.................. :grumpy: ;)

Great score Michael!! Damn near the nicest one yet.........

That kicks major ass, I have a feeling I'd like it even more, same knife, but with a satin carbon steel blade, and one of those complex Fogg-like hamons I have seen from you in the past. :)

Hey Dudley,

It was your firestorm that inspired this!

Thanks!!

Amazing, amazing, amazing!

Just to finish, thought I'd post the pictures of the sheaths I just did. The customer wants to use the knife in the kitchen and needed something non-leather, so I built this military style tactical Kydex sheath with an open bottom. The snap closure is my Quik-Snap system. Faster, more convenient, easier to adjust and replace than a regular leather or fabric retainer snap. It even flips itself out of the way when you pop it. I also made a simple black leather studded Bowie-type scabbard for display purposes. Thanks for looking, and for all the great feedback. Jason
