Does anyone know what pure tin for alloying with copper to make bronze should cost per pound? Secondly, does anyone know of a good source to purchase it from?

Guy,
if you find out please let me know as I need some for casting bullets.

I get all of mine off of eBay, usually costs around $5 a pound, plus shipping. Some kinds of plumbing solder are 95% tin and 5% antimony, equaling almost no antimony in the final bronze, so that's always an option to consider.

Yeah I had some on eBay I thought I had wrapped up but someone sniped it from me at the last minute for over $10.00 a pound. I couldn't find where on McMaster's web site that it gave a weight for the ingot they have but from it's dimensions I thought it was probably a lb. or so. So we are talking about $10.00 being a reasonable price per lb. and maybe getting it cheaper on eBay.

Thanks Oz, I didn't think about solder, also the metal alloy most people use for casting cheap jewelry is mostly tin and pretty cheap also.
