I like weaponry in all it's forms. From knives, to swords, to axes, to guns. You name it. I collect and use all of the above. =)

:)

I have not seen any spears, polearms, maces, flails, or battleaxes on the street lately, myself ... but I carry a folder in my pocket and a multitool on my belt.

I think they are just a bit less convenient for most of us to use on a daily basis.

Hmmm... a Cold Steel mace. Now, that would be a handy paperweight. Just the thing to intimidate... Got me thinking:)

I use both battle-axe and spear in re-enactment combat. Yes, they're blunt, and yes, we take great care about not hitting each other too hard (too many injuries and you don't have anybody left to play with!), but it's a real learning experience. And oh, yes - lots of fun, too.

Spears, etc... not common on the streets, but blades nonetheless, and fun to play with as well.

I used both a short axe (hatchet) and a steel mace (knobby stemmed piece of black iron found in the scrap pile behind a blacksmith machine shop) to save myself in separate confrontations when I was a kid.
Later, I carried a spring sap in addition to my knife while on the street. It did a good job of intimidating troublesome individuals on a couple of occasions.
I keep a short spear in the garage workshop...have had feral dogs come right up to the open door at times...and once a wild boar got loose in the neighborhood! A long pokey stick was our first defense weapon in pre-historic times, and it's still a good choice as a stand-off weapon if you have room to use it.
Impact weapons have only the disadvantage of non-concealability. This makes them inexpensive and effective as the ideal home protection weapon for those unable to afford or acquire adequate firearms. I'd rather face a prowler while armed with a baseball bat than with a .25 POS special, or even most knives.
Now that I'm an old man, I carry a stout walking stick.

Fan of all of the above. I've been fortunate to play with real weapons. I like shorter spears (once spent 2 hrs just stabbing at a target for fun) compared to the 7'+ models. I've played with some maces and a Persian battle axe with a 4' shaft, which I chipped.
Not sure if I could hang with KC or Egroth though. Not much into the rapier but I do like the Naval Boarding cutlass.

Thanks for all the response.I definatly usually just keep most of
these for use around the house, but enjoy training with them and
because of the diversity one of the favorite parts of my addiction.
