I just got into 24, went through the first 2 seasons last week.

I like how NOBODY carries a knife in this show.

So Jack Bauer recognizes a microtech halo when it gets pulled on him.

But he gets into a car accident and is stuck because the seatbelt is jammed and he doesn't carry a knife, only a gun.

Good training.

He pulls one in later shows and puts it to good SD use. But yes, there are all sorts of upsetting things done in the name of suspense. Things so obvious that it's frustrating sometimes. Otherwise, just let go of reality and get into it. It's a show I got into after I got over the initial frustrations.

i have seen him w/a protech godfather, pihrana amazon and a strider looking small fixed blade FWIW.

i really like the show myself.

I'm not sure what season, but Jack pulls a knife to wound himself to infiltrate a terrorists hideout. Sorry if spoiled anything, but I just wanted to reassure you that Jack is a Badass!
:D

I loved the show at first and then found that I couldn't get past the frustrations in the plot. I felt like they writers just added more stuff to stretch out the story and add suspense. I guess I wish the name of the show was "12"...that way they could leave out half of the BS and stick to goods...

Just my dumb opinion though... :)

Good point about the knife though...

The show is mindless drivel IMO, as 99.9% of TV is. I also hate the way keifer sutherland lowtalks the whole time. Speak up moron!

I've seen more knife content on the National Geographic channel.

He used a knife to cut of some guy's finger in the first season. No major usage, but blades do make the occasional appearance.

Jack uses a folder of some sort in one of the first 4 episodes of season 1. I think it had a tanto blade. Sorry I can't be more specific, it's been a while since I've seen it. I think he also uses the Microtech later after he takes it from the guy. One of the henchmen in season has an out the front auto if I remember correctly. I'm on disc 5 of season 2 right now.

Minor spoiler - Speaking of frustration, I'm sick of his daughter. After the events of season one, you'd figure she'd at the very least take a self defense course.

she does get better later on. You should also watch The Girl Next Door :D

In season 3, she is continuously on as she becomes head of CTU.

Cock Teaser University.

ha ha ha, lol.

i dont know about tactics/etc, i dont watch it for that, simply enjoyment, 24 and the sopranos is about all i watch, except being bobby brown lol, and other reality lol.

really all kidding aside its about all i watch on network TV except sports.

if ya re looking for knife content on TV all i know of is the HSN guys, there isnt a wholoe lot of it on.

i'm not specifically looking for knife content. I'm just surprised that somebody would carry a gun, tazer, and all kinds of crap - and no knife.

I watched episode 1 of season 3 last night and someone pulls an auto in the first few minutes. I'm not an expert on automatics but the blade looked a little like the Protech Godfather.

Speaking of blades in the show, I especially enjoyed Jack Bauer saying early in the series (Season 2, I think!?) "Right, I'll need a hacksaw!" LOL

Just a thought, I seem to remember he had a knife in Season One when he went into a biuliding, & shot two bad guys, he er..."removed" one of the BGs fingers for later identification at CTU.

I bet Microtech absolutley love "24".

or rather, Keifer Sutherland loves Microtech. It was mentioned in another similar thread that he collects them.
