Since the new Delica is "assembled" rather than mashed together, it would be cool if Spyderco sold replacement FRN slabs in different colors. Then we could change the color ourselves and Sal wouldn't have to listen to me b!tch all day long about how I hate black mall-ninja knives.
If the slabs are already being produced, how difficult would it be to have a batch made in a different color to be sold by themselves? How much would they have to sell for? Is this much more likely to happen than having to make, store, and sell whole knives in less-popular colors?
Benchmade is selling lots of whole color knives (Mini Griptilian) just like Spyderco used to. With the new Delica, the size and construction (FRN over steel) are similar, except for the lock, but the steel is better and the price will be a little lower. Any good reason why not?
Edit: OK, I don't know if the old colored Delicas sold well or not.
