Hi!
The knives arrived today. Obviously haven't used the Speed Bump (1595ALBLK) yet and the Mini-Mojo was a gift. I don't think you can get any more knife for the money than the SpeedB, and in fact I've gotten a lot LESS knife for more! Played around with it until I got comfortable enough to put it in my pocket. Fires beautifully. Stud lock is vault-like, although feels a bit gritty and is a little hard to release. No problem...it'll probably sort itself out with some wear and a little practice. There's no lock on the speed mechanism for this one like on my wife's Chive, right? (Just checking.) I can get comfortable with this knife pretty quick!!

Ah...the Mini-Mojo...that is one fine piece. I bought it as a gift for somebody that did me and my wife a good turn. I opened it, made sure it was OK...and then got right into the car and drove to where this guy works and gave it to him. I knew it was already too late because I'm going to get one of those too! I just wanted to be sure I got it to him because I was in danger of keeping it and I wanted him to have it going into the weekend.

I believe Kershaw produces the best value on the knife market.

2 good pickups Gargs. I have both knives myself and I like them both very much. Now if they would only make a Major Mojo. That would be cool.

We're talking about the ALBLK Speed Bump, right? Actually, there is a lock (or safety). The small screw with a washer under it need the flipper, on the clip side. Slide it towards the pivot and then try to open the blade.

Geezzzz. It has a lock too!! I can't believe this.

Just messin'. :p

I love my Bumps.
I wish the lock was located up high on the Leeks as it is on the Bumps.
It is very easy for me to disengage it with my larger hands.

Nice pick-up Gargs.
Over time, you'll get used to the stud-lock. It is a real brute of a lock, in a good way.

Hey Gargs, glad you like the knives! And I agree with you 100%...great minds think alike.

Ahhh, the drug has taken effect! Just a few minutes in your hand, and now you want a Mini Mojo, too. After that, look at the Blur in SG2, then the ENER-G II, then the JYD II CB, then the......well, you get my drift...

Definitely agree, both are awesome knives. You definitely need to pick up that Mini Mojito for yourself.

As the faces of the stud lock wear in, disengaging will get smoother.
I just toggled the lock a lot with a little extra pressure to break it in faster.

Enjoy the Speed Bump!

Enjoy your Speed Bump; awesome knife. I've been EDC'n one since late January, and there haven't been very many days since then that I've carried anything else as my primary EDC. Plain and simple, Kershaws kick ass! There are fewer things nowdays that we get our money's worth out of, and Kershaw knives are some of those things.

Enjoy your new knives.

Mike, you jumped on me before I could get to the edit button and change "lock" to "safety"...but the "duh" was come by honestly and I was caught out.

STX, I did a search on the models you mentioned and that Blur in SG2 looks like a must-have and probably means I should not visit this forum any more until May, when I can tap into the food money again.

Still waiting for the "Haystack Rock" leek and my guess is that it will have a safety AND a lock!! Such a deal....

I shouldn't have said lock either. I did mean safety. YOU CONFUSED ME! :D

It's all good, I knew what you meant. I hope I knew what I meant though.

Here are a couple of pics of my Speed Bump. I wasn't to fond of this knife until I handled the aluminum version. After putting a proper clip on it (in the proper direction, too), it is now my EDC.

The clips, screws, taps and drill bits are available from www.knifekits.com.
I have tried to move clips on other knives, but I do not have the skills of STR. The aluminum scales are very easy to drill and tap. If I could put the same clip on my JYD2, it would be in my EDC rotation.
