I was talking to the knife counter guys at my local Sportsman's Warehouse, last time I was in there, and told them about my Orange RC-4. They said to bring it in next time I came by, so today, while I was there trying to decide between a Benchmade Griptillian and a Kershaw Blur I let them take a close look at my RC-3 and RC-4, they seemed impressed:thumbup:. They especially liked the fit and finish on the handle slabs.

By the way, I went with the Blur, they aren't even close to internet prices on the Griptillian.
 
RAT would love to be in Sportsman's Warehouse. Appreciate you talking us up to them!
 
Just had a Bass Pro open up in my neck of the woods. (Manteca California)
Any chance of them carrying Rat Cutlery?
 
I doubt it. The problem with most of these mega-stores is they try to beat you down on the price and then it ruins sales fro the regular dealer. So, unless they are willing to pay what our other large distributors pay, then I seriously doubt they would buy from us.

Bass Pro, (and other big box stores), also like to play the loss leader game with popular brands; such as Buck folding gut hook Alphas for $24.95 - approximately $15.00 less than wholesale.
 
No worries, being that we're pretty hard headed I doubt you will ever see a RC blade in Bass Pro Shops or Wal-Mart. If that ever happens I can guarantee you it's not because we gave them a price break any better than our distributors. We refuse to lose money (or lose good customers) for the "prestige" of having our product in such places.
 
Thats fine with me, I feel better buying from a small business person any way.
I'd rather pay a little more to keep a great knife company like yours in business. Keep up the good work. :thumbup:
