Could you put g-10 over the stainless steel handles and turn the handles into liners. how much would something like this cost?

I replaced a non lock side once on one of those but I can't say I was ever really pleased with it although the owner of the folder liked it well enough to go on and on about it. The stainless version would be quite challenging to thread I think since its probably hardened to at least 45 Rockwell and knowing Spyderco it is more likely harder than this closer to 50 Rc. This on top of the thickness of the handle slabs always makes me nervous to try to thread those hardened stainless models.

I figure its possible but I'm not sure I want to try it personally. Giving you a price on it would be difficult since I've not done it. I don't really recall much about that model other than it had a compression lock, a dawg ugly clip and a lot of holes in it to lighten the weight. I'd really have to see one again I think to know much more. Sorry.

Thanks for asking though.

I'm now the happy owner of the ATR you moded. Here's where it gets a little weird. Sent this knife back to you yesterday. Not a thing wrong with it IMHO. It accompanies a Rijbak that is moded for the same customer - that I now own. Started to describe what I liked about the clip on the ATR/STR/AM and finally realized it just made sense to send it along and ask Steve to do the same on the Rij-bak/PM/AM.
Timing is strange.
Did I read this right and you want to convert a ATR to liner lock? Y?

Don't believe he wants it's lock changed. I don't really want to go there I don't think since it would be a down grade for sure.

I don't follow the work you want me to do but I'm sure it will make sense once I read the work order and see it in hand.

Thanks

Got your knives today John. Just FYI.

Not sure I understand all the details on the work order though.

We'll have to discuss that before I get to it. Lets take that private though rather than further derail here on this gents thread. Thanks
