Just got this one in the mail.

Man I almost feel bad about Waving this one. (almost :D) This is an ATS55 Matriarch in pristine condition new in the box. Doesn't look used. Not sure how old this is. Anyway, the owner wants it Waved.

Questions from PFB were to get a price for some thin black G10 scales. Well my friend, I have thin black textured G10 here and some thicker but to do this would require complete rebuild of the folder and for me to have to remake a new spring holder, and pins and barrels. It is quite extensive and I guess expensive depending on your point of view.

Choices would be to do it with titanium liners and G10 scales, or to do it with just G10 and no liners underneath. The G10 would need to be in thicker stock like .125 thickness to give it the needed rigidity it would require for use. I could thin it down more with ti liners under it but that again is getting into the big bucks. I would have to drill out the blade and lock bar to new hole sizes also so that the new barrels would work for an all screw construction. I don't know what you want to spend here. It is possible. But to do this with liners you are looking at $250 with a low rider. $225 without.

With just G10 $150 without $175 with a low rider.

Your other question regarding pocket clips. Ok all my low riders are $30 plus shipping unless bought in conjunction with a bigger job where I cut the price a bit. I cannot do a low rider on these barrel clips like used on this folder though. I tried it once and it was a very very weak pocket clip. I didn't trust it at all. I fear the first time you snag it on something it will break it. The hole in the middle to use the existing barrel bolt is just too large. As a result the clip is also too wide and it is very hard for me to fold them over when they get too wide. Its bad enough wrestling it in the thicknesses and widths you see me using.

Anyway, I'll be Waving this one soon. Let me know your thoughts on the other in the mean time.

Thanks

Ok my friend. Your folder is all done. Here is an after shot showing it Waved. I guess I better email you since you haven't chimed in yet.
If you happen by here an email is inbound to you.

Thanks

I never have done a Wave to a Lava. I assume it could be done quite easily but not 100% sure. Most "Spyderhump" knives Wave quite well though. I'd probably recommend a zip tie through the opening hole first and see how that works. If its a go then its probably feesible to add a Wave successfully to it.
