As mentioned previously, I recently purchased a Civilian (CF/PE/LH #132V), and a Karambit (#132), and upon recieving them today, I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase, and these items have exceeded my expectations.
Being my first Spyderco's, I am absolutely on my way to becoming a "Spyderco Convert", after personally finding myself unattracted to the Spyderco look.
The carbon fibre on the Civilian is sweet!, and pictures on the net do not do it justice. However, I read alot of reviews on the Karambit, with mixed reactions, and many not liking certain features, yet I personally think it is a great product, and I do not find the width to be a problem, nor the size of the ring, and I do not have big hands at all, so I have to say that both of these knives are excellent in quality, aesthetics and funtionality, and I truely love the first 2 Spyderco's of a soon to be expanded collection.
There are a few more Spydie's which have caught my eye, and I wish to know if the Bob Lum Chinese Folder (Serrated #132) is a sought after item ?
....and what about the D'Holder Toad ?
I'm thinking of purchasing the Chinese Folder if it is a collectable piece, along with the Bob Lum G-10 Tanto (PE #132V ATS-55 Black blade), and the Lil' Temperance (Leaf, PE)
Overall, I have to thank Sal Glesser and the Spyderco Company for producing quality products, and I hope the future of Spyderco and it's products is a prosperous one, and I look forward to catching up, and acquiring more of these fine knives (I've got alot of catching up to do).
After browsing the archives of the Spyderco Forums, I'm impressed with the interaction Spyderco has with it's customers and the public, through Mr. Glesser, in discussing furture designs, and listening to consumer suggestions, and critiques. One of many reasons I'm sure that makes Spyderco such a successful brand.
I apologise for the rant, it's just that I'm overwhelmingly pleased with my first 2 Spydie's, and I really wanted to know more about the Bob Lum Chinese Folder, as it does appear to be a unique item, and I have searched for information, but I would just appreciate a little more insight into it's collectability, and if it is a popular knife..... Any help is most appreciated.
