Two things I would like to ask Sal:

1) How did you come up with the name Spyderco? Is it derived of something or is it just a good-sounding name?

2) Can we please have a glimpse of your face (even a small passport photo would do for me). I would like to have an idea of what you look like.

P.S. 1: I'm a great fan, if you ever come to Greece, mail me first)

P.S. 2 : (being a big fan of Sal's doesn't mean that the above only applies to him-any forum member is invited to seek my help for information and travel arrangements for Greece)

Hi Costas - today's two for one day. Here's a pic of Sal and myself taken at this past year's SHOT show.

Hello all. My question is short.

Sal, what Spyderco model do you carry?

TIA,
smoke

Smoke - I'm usually carrying a prototype or Concept knife for "field testing". So I manage to carry every model during the year. Otherwise; Military, Police G10, Calypso. (both plain and serrated).

Costas - The name Spyderco was a combination of the term "Spyder" used in higher performance sports cars and boats, and an early tool we made that looked like a stainless steel spider (a mechanical soldering fixture for the electrical industry, which we no longer produce).
