I'm privileged to be carrying the Wegner Jr. - which makes me want to look for his"daddy"
- then along comes the Terzoula with the new blade metal, yummy...any opinions??? can't see buying both, too close in design.

Tough choice. I think the full sized Wegner has better ergonomics than the Starmate, but the Starmate is 440-V and I like the adjustable liner on the Starmate better. Both are excellent knives. I personally lean towards the Wegner because it feels so good in the hands. ATS-34 is an excellent steel, though it is not quite as good as 440-V. I would love to see a Wegner in 440-V or VG-10 and a new lock design, or at least the adjustable liner of the military and Starmate. My Wegner locks up as tight as a drum, but I think the adjustable ones will wear longer.

What Dennis said!

I also like to have a variety, and the Starmate is WAY different from the Wegner. It's nice to have knives to suit different moods. I find myself carrying the Starmate more often, but grabbing the Wegner when there's work to be done. In your spot, I'd probably go for the Starmate first. Don't worry, though, you won't be able to resist Big Wegner for long, then you'll have them both!

Does the wegner use 1/8th inch stock or thicker? I love the feel of the starmate, but I wonder if I need a blade as thick as what it uses. If the wegner has a thinner stock blade it might be useful for my everyday use.

I don't really understand having such a thick blade, strength cannot be a factor in a folding knife, as the handles would give before the steel even with thin blades. I'll admit it feels really solid, and looks great, but I think it sacrifices in slicing ability.
