Spyderfly/korth question

This has bothered me for a while. The SFly's blade shape is super unique, Except for Korth, who is the only maker I've seen who uses that shape. Did he have any input into the knife? Or is this a traditional shape that is used otherwise?
 
Look around for a "wasp waisted dagger." A shape that has been around for a long time, even if the Spyderco version is slightly more exaggerated than most "classic" examples I've seen.
 
Man, I haven't seen you in a dog's age! Good to know you're still around..
 
I don't know that it is so exaggerated. Look at this design which lasted some 400-500 years.

BTW, I have no idea of the quality of this particular item. if you wish to buy anything Roman, I suggest that you first check out the Legio XX website, as it has many good recommendations. Its leader, Quintus (Matthew Amt) is extremely knowldgeable and very helpful.
