I recently purchased an M16M-14.
I put some CLP on it but it still squeaks when I open it.
Is this common for this knife? Anything I can do?

Other than that I am very pleased with it.
Feels great in the hand, and opens pretty smoothly.

As far as i know, no knife should squeak. Could be cuz it's new... but i think it might be a bit tight is all... you can risk giving the screw a quarter turn, maybe less, and see what happens. Other than that... good luck!

There are more of us. I have an M16-14 Law Enforcement Model and so does my mate at work. I have had mine for a month and it still squeaks. I have tried to loosen it, tighten it, oil it and consistently open it....it still squeaks. I have an M16-13, no squeak. I have 3 other CRKT folders and they don't squeak. All in all they are great value for money, even though in Australia the 14 costs $190.00. I have many knives and I have carried the 13 at work for about 2 years until I replaced it with the 14. I like CRKT squeaks and all.

I also enjoyed the M16 series as well. Do they have the nylon washers?
If the washer is turning with the blade, then it may squeak in a high pitched noise. My Spyderco Viele also did that. If you are able take it apart, clean well with a metal cleaner, reassemble. Pay extra attention under the washers and pivot area of tang. That should do it. If not, well then I don't know....good luck.
