If you have cabin fever and are tired of this cold weather, there is a great knife show going on this weekend in St. Louis to warm you up. The Gateway Area Knife Club Show is this Saturday and Sunday. It is like a mini-Blade Show with custom makers, plus antique and factory dealers. This club puts on a very nice show. An ad appears in Blade Magazine for more information.
Several Bladeforums regulars make up some of the custom makers that will be present, including Bill Buxton, Craig Camerer, Don Hanson III, Jody Mueller, Dan Unger and Les Voorhies. (If I left somebody out, please correct me).
Other area custom makers, plus 80 tables for antique and factory dealers, make this a fun show to attend.
Let's see some images of blades that are headed to St. Louie! I'll start with this nice bowie Don just shared with me from Sunfish Forge. 11-inch 1086M with a lot of clip:

Yep, this is a good little show. I missed last year but have been attending this show for 14 years. Hope to see some of you there.

Thanks, Joe!

Beautiful knife. Arizona is nice, but we definitely need more shows here in the SW.

I'll be there, and even have a little utility knife all glued up and ready to finish tomorrow. :)

This shows the first in MO for me, really looking forward to it. Here's an ol'dagger thats making the trip.

Thats a beauty Don, but all yours are, damn you. :D

Nice lookin dagger, Bill.

Joe, I'm pretty sure Ray Cover and Al Dippold will be there along with 30 or so more makers. Sorry to hear that Russ wont make it.

See ya'll there.

Also, Rob and Leta Blanton of Elite Custom Knives will be there. Lookin forward to seeing you two.

Actually, for a small show, there is a lot of custom knives displayed here.

Just another awesome Hanson Bowie - wow! Bill, I don't usually go for daggers, but man, that is a beautiful piece. The wooden scabbard with damascus frog button provide an elegant finishing touch. Well done!

The word I've gotten is that Ray Cover won't be there this year, but then again he might surprise us:D

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Ray I hope it does too, it will sure be nice to get away and get around other makers for a couple days, should help break up this long winter. Wish you was closer.

Jim Krause is suppose to be there I think, I know he was planning on it in October. Jim makes some awfully nice folders.

Thanks again,

Bill

I don't have anything new to bring to the show, but I might go anyway just to check things out. If I get to go at all, I probably won't be able to get there until later on Sunday (1:00), which often means I only have about half an hour of viewing/fondling before half the tables are vacant.

Come anyway, my friend. It'll be good to see and talk to you again.

Three awesome looking folders, Jody! It is nice to see some of your work on here. Look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Hey, I figured out that I hadn't paid to play, so paid up and now can post photos again. Thanks to Bill for posting those photos for me. All these folders are mammoth ivory and Damascus. The Wharncliff has copper inlay. Some hand-engraving on them too.
Thanks for the good words
