I was wondering what an owner of Steves "Shobu" or any other of his knives thinks of them. I like the pictures I have seen.

Thanks

Don't own any, but I do know Steve and I've held many of his knives. They are very severely overbuilt! Heavy in a very serious way. You can tell that they are built to last! The Hamon's are gourgeous too!

I own a Shobu by Steve, and they are indeed very overbuilt. Quite literally sharpened prybars with beautiful hamons and very well wrapped cord over rayskin handles.

Despite their weight, you'll immediately notice how well balanced they are. They rest very nicely in the hand, and are not IMO too blade heavy.

The smaller neck versions have the same 1/4" thickness as the larger models though, making the edge a little thicker than I would prefer in a neck knife.
