I'm sure there are a few Knatchets floating about now yet still no reviews, what gives ?

I'm sure the ones out there, other than yours, are safe queens. You know they will be worth big bucks some day!

Rockywolf's was involved in a shipping mix-up, but should be on its way to him in the next day or two, so he has an excuse.

There is one other person on here who doesn't have an excuse though--the one who got the Kydex blade cover :P

Here is my personal opinion, which may not be worth much. People buy them because they look "cool." After they get them they realize they are a compromise between a hatchet and knife, which is what pitdog designed it for. In my opinion (again, probably not worth much), they don`t really need the hatchet part as much as they think they did. To get to the point, I have 3 more of these on order, if the people who ordered them wish to cancel their orders, no problem. There will be no more orders for these being accepted.

I dont understand this! I mean if you are getting orders for them and they are selling why would you not make them? If people dont like them once they get them they can sell them I am sure. Matter o fact anyone got one they want to get rid of let me know. Just commenting b/c I was planning on ordering one around Feb. for my anniversary present.

I'm sure John has his reasons for not wanting to make the Knatchet's anymore, maybe the material cost, maybe the time involved etc.
What I am sure about is that when the design is executed as in the one I have then they are an awesome all-round tool and would be a highly valued asset in a survival situation.
I am far from an expert when it comes to bushcraft etc but have used my Knatchet to do everything from making fish spears and large spoons to slicing tomatos !
As I keep getting e-mails about them I have secured another maker to continue producing them and will pass that on as required.

I am one of the ones with a Knatchet on order and I still want to get mine John. I want one for the "cool" look but having one will also let me cut down on weight for longer hikes and trips as I won't need to carry a small hatchet as well as my knives. I think the Knatchet is a great survival blade thats capable of handling many different tasks.

I am looking forward to mine. Wait til you guys see the sheath and baldric I had Noah make for it! JEALOUSY will ensue!!

Got mine a couple days ago. Still dressed in work clothes I chopped a small branch off a tree, limbed it, chopped into smaller pieces, shaved it, and reveled in the edge (sharp as hell), the fit and finish (excellent), and the way I could choke up on it for finer work.

The sheath is awesome too. I help Noah design it, since I wanted a removable baldric. He made the strap nice and long, sheath has an open back for ease of removal. I modded it already too, used a piece of leather from an earlier sheath by Noah, screwed it onto the strap for a handy-dandy firesteel holder. Voila! :D

Thanks to Pitdog for a great design, John for his talented construction, Noah for his leather bending skills! I'm looking forward to some woods and kitchen time with this baby.
