I looked to see if this was a repost and didnt find anyone else saying anything on here...
it's supposed to have
SN steel head (never heard of SN before)
Aluminum Handle
Titanium plates
"Super secret" Kryptonite screws

The head has a pivot that lets it have different placements like the images show below

To me its got a fantasy look like something from halo or something, but does anyone else know anything else about it, because as you can tell by my name, im a balisong lover, not much into axes or hatchets.. but i really want to get this thing! does anyone know when it should be out? have any other photos of it? or anything?!
:)

I read it was designed to cut through the skins of aircraft/vehicles using a lever action and the rounded top surface like a big can opener. The different positions the head will lock in allow the choice of an optimum angle to engage the skin and pull against.

And widely used by mall ninja ;-)

are you guys like calling it a CCC? because i dont know strider knives very well but i thought they make high quality knives. I thought it had a fantasy look too, but i loved that it had a fantasy look and had a strong real quality to it

no they arent but they are saying that prepubesent boys will likley beg their parents for one so they can show it off to their freinds.
not CCC at all looks like a smart design not anything i would ever need though.

If I ever have need of peeling a plane open i'll kick myself for not buying one.:D:D

I have to admit, I'm a traditional Hawk kinda guy.;)

I got to handle this thing at SHOT as well. Very purpose driven and specialized - very heavy as a gigantic can opener should be. Extremely well made as expected but not something you would carry around. It really is a thoughtful design for the intended purpose.

it looks like it was a first shot at a prototype too, so it should be interesting to see it develop and be refined.

haha im not a typical axe person, I like recurve blades on my balisongs most. BM41, a 29 kuhkri, or a PCC Recurve. So when i saw this i liked the look of it, being a balisong collector the word "need" isnt really a word we think about because 99% of us live in places where balisongs are illegal to carry, but i highly doubt a little kid could get his hands on a strider, a crappy Bud-K knife maybe but not a strider. and he said my favorite word... Titanium.

On one hand, I think Strider trying to make an axe/hawk is great.

On the other hand, to be quite honest, I think what they came up with looks extremely impractical... I would like to actually use one and see how it compares to a traditional hawk.

If you're going to throw that thing you need a plane for a target :D:D

Respectfully, it would not be an apples to apples comparison. It's hard to appreciate how substantial this piece is without handling it. It really is not a tomahawk - it resembles one but I can safely say the similarities end there. It is an emergency egress tool and is built like it.

Umm, there are some pretty God damn spoiled kids in the world in case you didn't know.
