I was at Studio 4 in Seattle last weekend attending a bladesmithing class taught by Jason Knight. Studio 4 is David Lisch's new knifemaking school and boy what a great class and an overall fantastic weekend. In the 3 days, we forged a blade, heat treated and completed a fighter as designed by Jason Knight.
He brought a pattern based on his Rogue Bowie series and watching him make one was indescribably instructive. There is a thread in the Custom section that will eventually show all the knives made, including the one Jason made but here's my version.

I can't wait until next year to do it all again.

Steel is 5160 with a blade of (in my case) 9 3/8" and an OAL of 15"
Naval bronze guard and walnut handle.

Thanks. For the purpose of instruction, we all made the "same" knife so he could demonstrate certain principles. They all turned out quite different though. Hopefully a picture will be posted in the other thread of all 7 of them.

Great job Stu ! Those grinds are perfect bro. I better place an order with you before you get too famous :) ! Hey Lorien , when are we gonna see more pics ?!

Great looking knife Stuart
I imagine a lot can learned from Jason in three days

Just a "heads up" - your leather work is MUCH nicer than Jason's :D

Thanks Michael. I always wondered if you got that sheath I made you.

Jason has someone else making his sheaths now.
