I was at Studio 4 in Seattle last weekend attending a bladesmithing class taught by Jason Knight. Studio 4 is David Lisch's new knifemaking school and boy what a great class and an overall fantastic weekend. In the 3 days, we forged a blade, heat treated and completed a fighter as designed by Jason Knight.
He brought a pattern based on his Rogue Bowie series and watching him make one was indescribably instructive. There is a thread in the Custom section that will eventually show all the knives made, including the one Jason made but here's my version.
I can't wait until next year to do it all again.
Steel is 5160 with a blade of (in my case) 9 3/8" and an OAL of 15"
Naval bronze guard and walnut handle.
