opinions on sub-hilt fighters? does anyone make an affordable (under $100) one? i am thinking CS OSS (any comments on this) but would really like a CS Big Bear. any company make a knock-off of decent quality? i hardly ever see these around but i really like the design...

Production sub-hilts are rare items indeed.

Aside from Cold Steel, Blackjack made an excellent one. Better than CS's IMO.

As Blackjack has been recently resurrected from corporate death, the possibility exists that their sub-hilt might make a comeback too.:D OH HAPPY DAY(!) if it does!

Other than those two corps., I know of no other company making sub-hilts at this time, although I'd love to find out if any do.

BTW, no company I know of has ever made a sub-hilt for under $100.00. That second guard is an extra step or five that can drive up the cost of manufacture really fast.

thanks for the thread, i would get the CS OSS but i don't like the rubber coated guard, the big bear would be great but nobody has replied on that thread, i figured production cost is why you don't find at low prices.

Hey, Joebe.
I'm from Canton, email me!!!!!
Anyhow, take a look at www.topsknives.com
While they don't make any true subhilts, my Steel Eagle has a cutout that gives very similar control to what a subhilt would.
And I love TOPS knives.
