Does anyone have any suggestions for touch-ups on the handle for the Lum Chinese folder? I traded w/ another forums member for it & it is a little rough on the handle from maybe drawer wear/ pocket wear, etc.
Any suggestions or opinions are welcome and appreciated.

I believe someone used a green "Sharpie" to touch up a nick in the Almite. You might want to do a search.

That was me. I used a green sharpie and it seemed to work. it doesnt match exactly (it's a little lighter colored) but since the scratch was small it worked pretty good. If you have trouble with the sharpie marks it you can remove them with alcohol (as long as the surface is nonporous)

Look at that. We are all in NC. And to get from Greensboro to Fayetteville, you go through Sanford. :) Oh well.

Thanks for all the input!! I tried the sharpie, looks OK.
Pretty unusual knife, took a little getting used to. Any inputs on how this folder functions as a utility knife, also as a tactical one?
Any concerns about fingers slipping on the handle?

dwr318 - The Lum is part of my EDC pack and I consider it the "utility" blade of the three. It is a nice small blade that is good looking and attracts little negative attention.

I use it every day for box cutting and all manners of stuff including a steak knife every now and then. No worries at all.

The handles are a bit slippery but all in all that is not a bad thing as it seems to help the draw a bit especially in blue jeans. Once you transition to a full grip though I never notice any movement at all.

As a tactical?...well, I have other stuff for that:) I am sure if it was all you had it would get the job done but it would be my last choice.

My son used it to carve a pumpkin at his scout meeting last week and it faired pretty badly. It needed a lot of force to penetrate and the liner lock flexed visibly when he he tried to force it at one point. I gave him one of the Emersons and it went a lot better. Weird as the Tanto has a thicker blade...dunno.

The final thought would be how slippery the scales would get with blood on them. Just my two cents...hope it helps.
