I have the silver with green LED's, and would highly recommend this combination. I also have the silver/white LED combination, and I prefer the green LED's far more than the white.
I did some research on the color that works best to retain night vision, and it turns out it's green, because our eyes more sensitive to green than any other color. This allows you to use less light to illuminate a subject than any other color, which saves your night vision. Thus, the green is the most "efficient" color.
On a related note, green also seems to penetrate closed eyelids less than either white or red (try it - use a similar light of each color with your eyes closed, and see which seems brighter to you). This allows me to pad around the house at night without waking my wife.
Bottom Line: I'd recommend the silver with green - works for me!

I got the silver with white LED's. I got the silver body just in case I use it for backpacking. It would be more likly to be seen in low light if dropped. I tried to find a black flashlight once in the same situation and it took a while. Since I'm using it as a back-up light, it being black is not all that important to me. Reagan
