Our very own Bryan Breeden has agreed to make me a blade to my specs . This is how it looks right now:

It will be basically a survival/camp/all-around knife, so I was thinking about a "survival sheath" in ballistic nylon or Cordura. Maybe it will need some sort of kydex frame for structure, but the sheath maker will have to confirm that for me. Well, basically something like what choltzapple showed for his ESEE-4 over at the ESEE forum:

I would like it to ride on my thigh, like choltzapple has his, so that it doesn't get in the way when I sit or move around, but is always in a comfortable position. I need it to have a leg strap, so that it doesn't flap around and is always "glued" to my leg - of course it could be just a type of lanyard in paracord, but I would prefer a nylon strap so it's more comfortable. I would also like it to have a pouch, where I can store a MT and/or other tidbits of gear.

Who do you guys recommend that could make something like that for my new Breeden knife?

What are the specs on your new knife? Have you considered having a kydex sheath made with eyelets so you can add and remove pouches, etc. as you see fit?

The first thing that popped in my head was if you like the rig choltzapple made for his RC/ESEE-4, will your new knife fit on the molle back for the RAT/ESEE 5 and 6 that they sell on the ESEE website? If so, you could have a kydex sheath made with eyelets/holes to match the ESEE molle back and pouches then modify it from there.

Or you could just use the molle back and use some other kind of pouch on it. Maxpedition, Tactical Tailor, whatever.

In terms of size it will be pretty close to the ESEE-6, but I don't think the ESEE sheath would fit being molded kydex.

I think Adam was suggesting you get a kydex sheath built to fit your knife with the same hole spacing as the ESEE6 sheath so their MOLLE back & pouch would fit.

Oh, ok, that does sound like a good idea! Do you happen to know if the hole spacing on the ESEE-6 is in "standard size" or something like that?

No, but I bet you a buffalo nickel if you went to the ESEE forum and asked some of my brothers from another mother, they would get the dimensions for you off their molle backs. :D

Will do!
In the mean time, does anyone have any other suggestions of someone that could make a nylon sheath that way?
