That means using your head and not driving through a blizzard in a 2wd truck with a 2 month old inside. While wearing tennis shoes no hat gloves or coat. Power is out here and we are hunkered in. Im done playing samaritan for tonight i hope. More later when we have power I hope. I am evaluating my preps if nothing else.

Good Luck brother. Stay safe!
We lost our furnace for a few days last winter...No fun. Thank god for a Fireplace, and a god supply of wood.

Keep Us informed!

..let me guess...it wasn't a man who was stuck with a 2WD with tennis shoes and no gloves...and a baby inside.

I work for a large school district. Unfortuantely I will be heading out in the middle of the night to get a head start on plowing. Too much to push all at once so we'll be working at it all day tomorrow and Thursday I'm sure to get a handle on it.

Man and woman. Biggest white out in 30 years. Posting from droid. Been fun.

right on..yea your not to far from me..i live around the davison area..its not snowing as hard as i thought it would be by now..but hey its mich. we might not even get any snow they were predicting lol

Hell, I ended up getting stuck coming home from work. My job cares more about sales than the employees that make them money.

It doesn't help I drive a mustang, but that's all I've got to work with for now. :-\

And it's been 13 hours since I called the towing company... They're too busy digging EMSA and themselves out.

I know what you mean. While my vehicle doesn't permit me to do good deeds, the two stores I run (video rental) and the higher-ups within the company decided we needed to stay open while a state of emergency was declared. Nearly every business in both towns were closed today and will remain closed tomorrow, not us. Even the Walmarts were closed. The worst of the snow is over, but we'd have morons rolling in and complaining that they had to return stuff tomorrow... you were dumb enough to get out in it in the first place, outta be dumb enough to do it again tomorrow when the roads are better.

I had to walk to the store in town today to shovel the walks and lay down salt. Even our plow guy wasn't able to make it in to clear the lot. A normal 10-15 minute walk took 45 minutes. Times like these when I wish my truck was 4wd. Sad thing is, I got passed probably 5 times on my way down, and not a soul offered a lift. It wasn't until halfway home that a younger guy took me the last few blocks I had left. Nice kid.

I'm very familiar with that area. Who know's what to expect around here. :D

dibs on your esee knives! :p:D good luck out there. we've had our fair share of the white stuff and we're getting a break this time - just freezing rain today then 40's tomorrow and just rain. if it was snow, i honestly have no idea where i'm going to put it since the pile is already as high as my head!

All those knives and ammo arent helping me right now. Or heirloom seeds. :D

I own a shovel made of gold...WIN WIN!

Seriously though, we're getting the whole mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain...everything. And my 4WD is acting nutty. I'm afraid at some point I'll go to switch it and I'll be sitting in a no wheel drive..

Best of luck Adaman - we're still getting snow, but at least the wind has slowed down some. Tomorrow I'll use the tractor to dig out.

Some of my family lives in that area. they were telling me today how its been up north.

Yeah, it's definitely been a mix of everything around here for sure. Driving east from RI border this morning, with the exception of the windshield, the whole front of my car was solid ice. Antennae, grill, bumper, headlights, everything.

I don't know how you northern folks do it. This crap is about to kill me. Power came back on, furnace wouldn't run. Checked error code light. "Blocked vent pipe". So for the 2nd time today I got on the roof. This time I got to spend about 45 mins up there with a headlamp and a snow shovel clearing 3.5 feet of snow off the south end of my roof. If I had just done part of it, it would have just drifted back faster. I bet I sleep good tonight, knock on wood.
