Sven saw

Have any of you ESEE kolks used the Sven-Saw. I've seen it here and there and wonder if it is any good. Any feedback? Looks like it would be a pretty light, low profile addition to my pack.

I wonder how it compares to the sawvivor.

The only complaint I’ve heard about it is the triangle shape can limit the size of wood you can cut through. As you get deeper into the wood, the point at the front end of the saw will only allow the saw to sink in so much.

Another option is the Sawvivor saw, which is a more squared frame. Smaller folding saws are great, but something more robust it something I’ve been looking for as well.

I love that Sawvivor, used it a lot and it never let me down Perfect for those tasks where "batoning" is just a waste of energy

There's not alot my bahco can't do.

I really like mine, it's also very lightweight, and pretty well built.

I have Sven saw. I like it very much. I would recommend the 21 inch model. I tried other saws like it, but they are substandard. Sven all the way.

Personally, I use Fiskars saws, very efficient, very light and strong. I love them. :thumbup:

You can also look at the Trail Blazer saws (same maker as the Sawvivor). It has a more traditional take down buck saw shape so it handles large rounds very well and it has a captive wingnut (unlike the Sven Saw).

I love my Sven Saw. Original blade on it after 15 years. Granted, i am not cutting cord upon cords with it. I have bucked a fair amount with it though. It cuts really fast.

I've always had pretty good luck with the pocket chainsaws. Need o get a new one, gave mine to a buddy cause he was really impressed by it.

Kind of cracks me up that the OP asked about a very specific saw, and at least four other saws have been recommended instead.
And not one of them was a Silky, which is the stock answer to any saw question in W&SS.

Wifey and I use it for a backpacking saw and it works great! Have tried many but this one suites us best!

Sven saw has been around for decades, gets high marks everywhere I look.
One rides in my pack or the back seat of my truck all the time.
