On lunch break today, I went down to the sportings good store and lo and behold, they had the fancy 2 blade Case Swayback Jack in green bone! I got to handle it and now I feel I must own one of these!

But...I like choices! Any other companines make this pattern? If so, any in interesting steels/handles?

I believe there is some law somewhere that says, if you like the swayback jack pattern, you have to purchase a Case with chestnut bone handles and CV steel.

OooOOoo! I do like the cv! Although, the green handles on the ss were purtier! I'm in no big hurry, maybe I can snag a used one if I'm patient.

Uh huh. Be sure not to go to jail. :D Actually SS or CV will be fine, but I am very happy with my CV version. More so than with any regular production knife I have picked up in the last decade or so, but I am a little prejudiced toward it. Your mileage may vary.

Does that mean I have to turn in my Erickson and Ruple swaybacks to avoid prosecution?

Mike

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Case swaybacks. The two I have, one ss and stag, the other chestnut bone with CV are really nice for production knives.

Okay I'm a girl so my choice might be bias. I personally LOVE the bubble gum SwayBack Jack that Sheperd Hills Cutlery has for sale.

I dug out my old all-in-one printer (that has a flatbed scanner on top) and to my surprise, it seems to scan pretty good. Of course my Swayback was one of the first ones I tried.
Gotta love the Chestnut Bone and CV combo...
